Yeah. Didn't really make much of a difference, at least, not for class. Linux lab was something else.

Well, it wasn't a lab, like for botany. It was where you could go to work on your assignments, if you didn't want to putty in. Putty was a program that let you access the linux lab from your own comp, using linux to write your programs.

that sounds cool. so, what exactly is linux? a computer programing language of some sort? or is it more of a program? you know, i found it odd that you used botany lab as an example of what it wasnt, and not something like chemistry, or something like that.

Linux is a free operating system, like windows, but free. There are a lot of versions of it, because it is open-source, meaning anybody can improve it (I think, you'd have to ask Jason or Mike to get more details).
