I didn't have a room to myself until Jill got married, and (obviously), Jill's never had a room to herself.

True.
But on a happier note, Hailey is so close to walking! You know those push toys babies use? The toys they push on and "walk" with before they can walk without support? Hailey was using a kitchen chair like one of those toys yesterday. She pushed it around and around the kitchen island (I helped with navigating it, and I pushed a little, sometimes)

Well, she needs pretty constant attention as it is, so I doubt it will make that much difference. Some, but not much.

My two youngest brothers shared a room, they had a bunk bed (usually separated, so two twin beds, really), but that wouldn't work now. They now have separate rooms, and if we tried to put them back in the same room, they'd probably kill each other.

it is one of the commandments. its a lot of fun when we get rachel for the weekend. i do a lot of indoor camping on the floor. last time i did, rachel joined me, and pushed me off the sleepingbag/mat, so i went to the bed, and i woke up with her right next to me there too. it was kinda cute, except for the fact that a 23 year old and a 12 year old don't fit well on a twin size bed.

All the kids in my family shared a room at some point. Now I have my own room, and so do Derrick and Kyle. Devin might or might not. He's away at college and I'm not sure what his situation is.
I think it's good for kids to have to share a room. They have to make compromises to get along with their roommate.

agreed. rachel and dante both grew up as basically only children, and had their own rooms, for good reasons, and now they don't know how to share (much), and have a hard time making compromises. its interesting watching them/playing with them.
