Like how America won the Revolutionary War by avoiding the then-normal stand-in-a-field-and-shoot-each-other battles and instead harassing the British until they decided to leave.

Yep. Though, it's kinda funny, in a not-so-funny way, that in the Civil War, they decided to go back to the stand-in-a-line-and-shoot type thing, rather than their old strategies, which had worked before.

That has to be the dumbest form of fighting EVER. Let's stand up and let them shoot at us. Whoever's in front is almost certainly dead. They found that out in the Civil War when they had guns that could actually AIM.

that is very true. the whole lets stand in a line thing was kinda stupid. lets just pick evertone off like ducks in a row. you would think that they would have realized that.

I wouldn't be mocking them too much. We all do incredibly foolish and obvious things now, that people years from now will look back at and laugh.

still, you would think that they would have realized that the stand-em-up-in-a-line thing just doesnt work. even some of the things that we do today we can tell that they arent going to work.

Yeah, really, like standing around, hoping that no one decides to blow up a car or anything. Really. Of course, not like they can do much else, but at least they're not standing in a row, trying to shoot at people hidden from view. That would be even worse.

why would they be standing in a row trying to shoot at someone who is hidden. if they were to use the civil war thinking, then they wouldnt even try till they saw the enemy.

Except that the enemy would be shooting at them while hidden. I think they'd return fire. At least we don't, huh? I heard the story of some group that was well-known for their courage, bravery, toughness, and (because for that it is required) general insanity, that came under attack while they were asleep, and they started shooting back without even putting their clothes on. Just grabbed their guns and started shooting back. I think I heard that one from William. Ask him about it.

I know it wasn't the Green Barets. I think either a paradrop group, or some Marine group. Something like that.
