It's the day we drive to a 7:00am meeting for work even if we aren't scheduled to work (besides the meeting) until noon.

You do? Those meetings are lame, aren't they? To Melinda: Yes and no. Assuming I'm not dealing with rush hour, I leave for work 40 minutes early. This Saturday, the meeting lasted till about 8, and I was scheduled to work at 10. Under the best conditions, it takes about 20 minutes to get home. That plus the 40 minutes for driving back (because conditions won't be the best and I like to have time to put my bag away and stuff) = 1 hour or more of driving for one hour or less at home. It's kind of lame, but I guess it's better than going home and coming to work at noon. At least I get off earlier.

Saturdays off would be really nice. Morning meetings are fine as long as it means that I get off early.

They are great. But I admit it's also nice to not work 5 days in a row. Lately, I've had Sundays and Thursdays off, so I work 3 days, then I'm off one, then I work 2 day, then I'm off again.

i don't know. i might like the whole not working five days in a row. working day after day, with only a weekend off sometimes gets old. i mean, think about it jason. if you worked only five days a week, with Wednesdays off, how would that change your week (besides not working as much). would you enjoy having that day off? would you feel not quite as tired?

I had another early morning meeting today (as I do each Saturday during the busy season). And everything in the meeting could easily been taken care of in an e-mail or two brief conversations (One for the people who start in the morning, and one for the afternoon people). This is basically what I learned in the meeting that I got at 5:30 for: It's getting hot, so be sure to keep an eye out for plants or customers needing water (we give out complementary bottles of water). Ornamental grasses and some tropical plants are on sale. We're having a red-tag sale and one of the things on sale are our fruit trees. Despite a confusing ad, furniture is not on red-tag sale. Make sure to put away your hoses. X people signed up Y number of customers for our rewards program (we were first in the company for sign-ups this week). See you guys later. That was totally worth getting up at 5:30 and driving 40+ minutes. The traffic was surprisingly light today, so driving time was less than expected.
