Both. I cannot watch a television show or a movie without analyzing it and breaking it apart into its separate tropes.

Sad day for you! But I do know how that goes, in a way. Now when I watch movies, I wonder about camera angles, how they did specific shots, etc. Filming and editing a movie does that to you.
